Whare Aroha (House of Caring) has a medical hospital, a rest home and a special care unit for those with dementia and Alzheimers needing a safe environment. It is run by the Rotorua Continuing Cure Trust. It is a non-profit making facility and all income is used to provide residents with a high standard of cure. The service includes 24-hour registered nursing care, general and specialist medical care, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, diversional therapy, chaplaincy service, podiatry and pharmaceutical service, Whore Aroha caters for people with physical or mental disabilities from teens to old age. Care may be long or short term. There is a Te Roopu (Whare Aroha) group.
